Police Information

The Police Department has 52 employees and is comprised of four Divisions - Administration, Patrol, Investigations and Communications/Jail. Each division of the department is responsible for specific duties that require expert training and experience to accomplish the goals of the departmetn. The department services an area of 10.1 square miles with an overnight average population of fifty-five thousand.

 

Hours
The Police Department provides full law enforcement services 24 hours a day, year-round. Records, Court, and Administrative Divisions are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Closed on Observed Holidays).

GHSO Grant and Title VI Compliance:

The Police Department is the recipient of a $20,998.86 grant from the Governor's Highway Safety Office for the 2015 fiscal year. This grant was awarded for police traffic services and the funds are to be used for traffic safety education, training and enforcement.

The Police Department is the recipient of $14,925.00 grant from the office of Criminal Justice Programs for the 2014 fiscal year.  This grant involves a 25% match or $4,975.00 from the City and will be used to fund improvements in technology for the patrol division.

The Police Department adheres to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and does not discriminate based on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin with regards to the delivery of police services for our visitors and citizens.
