Community Center

GATLINBURG, Tenn.—The Gatlinburg Community Center reopened on Monday, August 7 after being closed during the week of July 31 for its annual Maintenance Week.

During Maintenance Week, the facility’s wooden floors were cleaned and refinished and fresh coats of paint were applied throughout the Community Center. Other various maintenance jobs were completed during this week as well, which help to ensure that the Community Center operates safely and efficiently for all patrons of the facility.

“The Recreation Department is appreciative for the understanding of the public for this necessary closure of the Community Center to conduct routine maintenance and ensure that the building is in good condition,” Recreation Director Laurence Evans said. “The Department also thanks our many employees for their work during this week to make the Community Center a great facility for everyone to enjoy.”

The Gatlinburg Community Center is open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekdays, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Community Center features an indoor swimming pool, bowling center, the ToneZone Gym, gymnasium, and racquetball courts.
