GATLINBURG, Tenn.—Due to lack of precipitation and low humidity levels, the Gatlinburg Fire Department has ceased issuing burn permits until adequate precipitation lowers the threat level.

“The Fire Department asks that everyone be mindful of the recent dry conditions and low humidity and take proper steps on keeping fire danger at a low risk,” said Charlie Cole, Gatlinburg Fire Chief.

The Gatlinburg Fire Department requires burn permits for any outdoor burning year-round. For more information on burn permits, please contact the Gatlinburg Fire Department at 865-436-5112.
