Litter Cleanup

Update: This event has been postponed due to the winter weather conditions in the area and will be rescheduled in the future.

GATLINBURG, Tenn.—The Gatlinburg Recreation Department, in conjunction with Keep Sevier Beautiful, will host a volunteer riverbank cleanup along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River in downtown on Friday, January 19.

The cleanup event will begin at 7:45 a.m. and last until 9 a.m. Individuals wishing to participate are asked to meet along River Road near the Gatlinburg Skylift parking area, located at 510 River Road.

“Friday is a popular fishing day and anyone interested is invited to help us clean up the riverbank before the temperatures warm up and fishing begins for the day,” Gatlinburg Trout Facility Manager Travis Williams said. “We are encouraging our regular anglers, outfitters, and any guide services that benefit from fishing in Gatlinburg to put on their wading gear and help clean up the riverbanks.”

For more information on the cleanup event contact Williams at TWilliams@gatlinburgtn.gov or follow the Gatlinburg Trout Facility on Facebook.
