GATLINBURG, Tenn.— The City of Gatlinburg is proud to announce the launch of its new mobile app, designed to enhance communication with residents and visitors, as well as provide seamless access to essential information.
“This app represents a significant step forward in the City's efforts to enhance communication and community engagement, while also allowing the City to effectively communicate information in a timely, efficient fashion,” Gatlinburg City Manager Greg Patterson said.
The Gatlinburg mobile app is a one-stop resource for information to the City's operations. Users will find detailed information from all City departments, ensuring they have access to the latest updates, services, and resources at their fingertips.
The app is available for free for on both Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platforms and can be downloaded in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
Key Features of the Gatlinburg Mobile App:
· City of Gatlinburg Information: Users can easily navigate through information from all City departments, ensuring they stay informed about key information, services, and initiatives. Users can also navigate the app to view information about each of the City’s Departments, find live parking information at the City’s two municipal parking garages, view jobs available within the City of Gatlinburg,
· Push Notifications: Users can stay updated with real-time push notifications for important information and alerts, including emergency communications. Whether it's a road closure, emergency alert, weather alert, or community event, users will receive timely updates directly on their mobile devices.
In order to receive push notifications, users must first opt in to allowing their mobile device to receive them upon opening the app for the first time. Users then are redirected to the Push Channels screen where they can opt to receive Information Alerts, National Weather Service Alerts for Sevier County, Police Alerts, Fire Alerts, and Road Closure Alerts. These settings can be modified at any time through the app’s settings.
· Bill Payment: In addition to paying bills on the City of Gatlinburg’s website, users of the mobile app can also make Utility Payments, Court Payments, Parking Tickets, and Property Taxes via the platform, which redirects users to the appropriate websites.
· Dedicated Sections for Police and Fire Departments: Gatlinburg’s mobile app includes specialized sections for the Gatlinburg Police Department and the Gatlinburg Fire Department. Users can access important information regarding these departments, including safety information, community involvement, safety tips, and avenues for the public to commend personnel.
· Enhanced Communication: The app serves as a powerful tool for the city to communicate directly with its citizens and visitors. Through the app, individuals can communicate with the City to address issues – such as potholes, utility service problems, or other concerns.
· Visitor Information: The app also features a dedicated space for visitor information, which includes information on Trolleys, Parking, the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau (GCVB). The Visitor’s Information Section also includes Gatlinburg’s Visitors Guide, which is published by the GCVB, and Relocation Information.
